"Shadow"

(Memory, emotional residue, and the presence that follows in silence)

There are people with whom we form deep emotional bonds connections that outlive conversation, proximity, or time. Even when we part ways, something of them lingers. We carry their presence not in sight, but in shadow.

In this work, the artist reflects on a nighttime walk through unfamiliar streets in a foreign city. Architecture unknown, language unfamiliar yet a familiar presence lingers quietly. The memory of someone, long absent, travels beside her like a shadow that cannot be outrun.

Shadow is a meditation on how emotional attachments persist in us, long after they cease in the external world. Some people leave our lives, but not our inner landscape. They walk with us in silence, even under foreign skies, even when we are far from who we used to be.

It asks: What follows us into the night, though no longer visible?
